St. Andrew is committed to creating and sustaining a nurturing, safe environment where all children can learn and grow in Christ’s love. We believe that faith formation can begin in any life season, as early as infancy. Our programs include Bible study and Christian education classes, community and global service projects, welcoming social events, and mission opportunities.
St. Andrew aims to provide programming that affirms the promise of Baptism and encourages people of all ages to live into its practices.
The ELCA states that these practices include:
“[to] live among God’s faithful people;
hear the word of God and share in the Lord’s Supper;
proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed;
serve all people following the example of Jesus; and
strive for justice and peace in all the earth.”

Unbridled Prayers
Unbridled Prayers is a new page and an easy-to-install app that posts a prayer a day for busy parents and other primary caregivers who may feel overwhelmed by the idea of developing a daily prayer practice. These prayers offer support, understanding, and a touch of humor. Parents can choose from prayers for early childhood, elementary, and preteen to match their kids’ ages. Learn more and download the app at Unbridled Prayers.
Spirited Animation – A Podcast Exploring the Intersection of Spirituality and Animated Media for Children
The Rev. Erin and Dr. Tim Jones, members of St. Andrew, produce a podcast called Spirited Animation. Pastor Jones writes, “Spirited Animation is many things in the Jones household—it’s a combination of the two realms in which we are experts (spirituality and Animation studies); it’s a formalized space for conversations and debates we are already having; and it’s a way for us to engage more deeply in the media we watch with our kids, trusting that there are deeper lessons for us and for them.” They have shared episodes on The Lion King, Encanto, My Father’s Dragon, My Neighbor Totoro, The Super Mario Bros., An American Tail, Bluey, Toy Story, Pinocchio, Turning Red, and Nimona. You can find all episodes here: Spirited Animation https://spiritedanimation.com.
Taking Faith Home Page in Weekly Bulletin
Taking Faith Home is a resource found on our webpage, at the back of the weekly printed worship bulletin, and in the worship toolkits for children. This page offers daily readings throughout each week, prayer and blessings to use at meals or other times, a devotional reflection, suggestions for service, and “caring conversations” to help share faith with others. Please take a look into this great resource!
Christ in our Home Devotional Booklets Available at Church Entrances
This resource offers a daily Bible reading with a short reflection and prayer, along with additional readings and prayer topics for those who would like to expand their devotional practices. We encourage people of the congregation to take one for yourself, your family/household, or others.
